Candidacy to The John Marshall Review of Intellectual Property Law
Grade On Candidates
John Marshall students are invited to join RIPL as a grade-on candidate if they are in the top twenty-five percent of their first year class and either:
(1) have an undergraduate degree that qualifies them to sit for the United States Patent & Trademark Office registration examination;
(2) is enrolled in the joint JD/LLM IP Law Program; or
(3) is enrolled in the JD Certificate in IP Law Program.
Write-on Candidates
Students are invited to participate in the RIPL write-on program if they are in the top fifty percent of their class and have completed between twenty-four (24) and thirty-eight (38) credit hours. The write-on program requires participants to prepare a ten (10) page legal analysis of a chosen topic.
All accepted RIPL candidates (both grade-on and write-on) are required to complete one student comment that is accepted by the RIPL Board, in order to become RIPL staff members.
